In the northeast, several districts of Arunachal Pradesh have been placed under a heavy rain alert, with authorities urging residents to remain vigilant.

Telangana on High Alert for Extreme Rainfall

According to IMD, the southwest monsoon has intensified over southern India, bringing widespread downpours to Telangana. Districts under the red alert category may experience rainfall exceeding 20 cm, accompanied by gusty winds and possible flooding in low-lying areas.
State disaster management teams have been put on standby, and residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

Arunachal Pradesh Braces for Intense Showers

In Arunachal Pradesh, the IMD has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in several districts, with certain areas expected to witness very heavy spells. The monsoon trough is active over the northeastern states, increasing the risk of landslides and flash floods in hilly regions.

IMD’s Safety Advisory

The IMD recommends that people in affected states:

  • Stay indoors during heavy rain spells.
  • Avoid crossing swollen rivers or streams.
  • Follow updates from local authorities and disaster management teams.

National Monsoon Outlook

Apart from Telangana and Arunachal Pradesh, parts of Kerala, Uttarakhand, and Delhi are also likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days. The IMD will continue to monitor the situation closely and issue updates as needed.
